Appeal for information following an attempted robbery in Derby

Police are appealing for information following an attempted robbery in Derby.

At around 12.35am today (Tuesday, January 27), three women were walking along Nun’s Street when they passed three men stood at the junction of Mundy Street.

One man, who sat on a bicycle, tried to grab one woman’s handbag. The strap snapped and the contents of the bag fell out.

Meanwhile, one of his accomplices unsuccessfully tried to snatch her friend’s bag. The three women ran off.

The man on the bike is described as white, slim, in his mid-20s, wearing a dark hooded top and dark trousers. His bike was a black and grey BMX.

Another man was white, slim and in his late 20s. He wore a light grey hooded top. The third man was also slim, in his mid-20s and wearing a navy blue knitted beanie hat and dark clothing.
