Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was threatened in his home.

At 5am this morning (Friday, June 26) police were called to a house on Fern Avenue in Staveley to reports that a man had been threatened.

Two men entered the house, demanded money and threatened a man. When he refused they tied him to a chair.

Both men were wearing blue scarves over their faces. One of the men was 6ft 5ins tall and the other was wearing a dark blue hooded top and was shorter in height. Both men had local accents and where wearing trainers and gloves.

Two men, a 31-year-old and a 35-year-old, have been arrested on suspicious of aggravated burglary.

Anyone that saw any suspicious activity in the early hours of this morning in the Fern Avenue area is asked to contact Chesterfield CID on 101 quoting incident number 103 of today's date.
