Engraved watch among haul of items stolen in daylight burglary

Burglars stole a large amount of items including an engraved watch after breaking into a house in Chellaston.

The offenders forced their way into the Sutton Avenue house through a window and searched inside.

They stole a large amount of cash, a Royal Crown Derby blue tit paperweight and a robin paperweight, and a number of watches including two men’s Sekonda wristwatches.

A gold Tudor wristwatch that was engraved dated September 1927 and with words including “For 25 years’ service” was also stolen.

Detectives investigating the offence want to hear from anyone who knows the whereabouts of the stolen items.

The burglary took place between 9.50am and 4.35pm on Saturday, February 21.
