Man arrested in connection with assault at Foremark Reservoir

A man was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm after a walker had his leg broken in an assault at Foremark Reservoir.

The victim had been walking through the car park at the site, near Milton, when he challenged a group of horse riders for using picnic benches to mount their horses.

A short time later, the 58-year-old victim was taken to the side by a man who then kicked him to the ankle.

He suffered a fractured fibula and tibia was hospitalised for several days, where he had plates and pins inserted in his leg.

A 24-year-old man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm and has been bailed pending further inquiries.
