Solar panels and plant machinery stolen from three Sudbury sites

Posted on 6th March 2015

Police are appealing for witnesses after a large amount of solar panels and plant equipment were stolen from land near Sudbury.

Between 6pm on Tuesday, March 3 and 7am the next morning, thieves went onto fields off the A515 Lichfield Road and removed 14 solar panels.

A total of 84 panels were stolen from another site in Lichfield Road between 6pm on Friday, February 27 and 11.30am the next day.

The panels were 2ft by 3ft and, due to the quantity, would have required at least one vehicle to move from the location.

A sit-on roller was stolen from a third site, also in Lichfield Road, between 6pm on Tuesday, January 13 and 7am the following day.

Police investigating the thefts want to hear from anyone who may have seen suspicious vehicles or people in the area around the times of the offences.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call Derbyshire police on 101, quoting crime reference 8986/15.

You can also call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
