Woman suffers black eye during city centre assault

A woman suffered a black eye when she was assaulted in Derby city centre.

The 42-year-old was walking with a friend along the Morledge when they saw a man and woman in front of them. She heard the man encourage the woman to attack someone.

She suddenly walked up to the victim and punched her in the face.

She is described as white, in her 20s and slim. She had black hair tied back in a ponytail and wore a tracksuit.

The man is in his 20s with short, dark hair. He wore a grey tracksuit with blue stripes down the arms.

The incident happened at around midnight on Friday, February 6.
