Witness appeal after car parked in Long Eaton is set alight

Police investigating the suspected arson of a car parked in Long Eaton are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A silver Ford Mondeo that had been parked in Charnwood Avenue was targeted in the early hours of the morning on Friday, March 27.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene and an investigation revealed that it had been deliberately set alight.

The offenders smashed a rear window smashed and then started a fire on a back seat, which destroyed the car.

Police want to hear from anyone who may have seen people acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the offence, which took place just after midnight.
