Man arrested in connection with serious assault in Normanton

Police have arrested a man in connection with a serious assault in Normanton.

At around 11pm on Saturday, March 7, a man was found injured at the junction of Newdigate Street and Balaclava Road.

The 28-year-old had suffered a head injury and was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

A 46-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm, questioned and released on bail while inquiries continue.
