Police appeal to trace van driver who helped Alfreton Road robbery victim

Detectives investigating a robbery in Derby are trying to trace a van driver who stopped to help the victim.

The 55-year-old victim was waiting near a post box near Tomlinson’s in Alfreton Road at about 4pm on Friday, January 29 when the offence occurred.

He was struck to the face and fell to the floor. His belongings – including a black Quick MTX cycling bag with his work clothing and phone inside – were then stolen.

Police investigating the offence are appealing for anyone who saw suspicious activity on the busy stretch of road to come forward.

They also want to speak to the driver of a van, who stopped to help the victim.
