Witness appeal following River Gardens assault

Posted on 10th April 2017

We’re asking for witnesses who were walking through Derby’s River Gardens when an assault took place.

A man and woman were sitting on a bench when they were kicked and punched in an unprovoked attack by another man and woman.

The pair suffered minor bruising and cuts and were left shaken, but were not seriously injured in the attack, which happened between 9.30pm and 9.45pm on April 1.

Our officers want to speak to anyone who was in the River Gardens around that time.

We believe that a man walked past the bench in the moments before or after the assault and we’d like to speak to him to find out if he can help with our investigation.

If this was you, or if you can help us in any way, please call PC Alanna Price on 101, quoting reference 17000139505.
