Officers from the Sinfin and Normanton Safer Neighbourhood Teams have arrested three people today after executing search warrants at a premises in Cromarty Close, Sinfin, a house in Melbourne Street, Normanton and a house in South Drive, Chellaston.
The searches were all linked and were carried out under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Officers recovered what is believed to be cannabis in different stages of growth and preparation from the addresses in Sinfin and Normanton and a quantity of cash from the address in Chellaston.
Three men, aged 59, 40 and 27, were arrested at the Sinfin address for the suspected offences of production of a class B drug, possession of a class B drug with intent to supply and money laundering. They are all currently being interviewed at St Mary’s Wharf police station in Derby.
Sergeant Graham Young, who is in charge of the Sinfin Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “The action was taken by both teams after community intelligence had been received about suspected activity at the address in Sinfin. We are pleased to have taken, what we believe to be cannabis, off the streets and respond positively to concerns of the community.
“We will always endeavour to act when we receive such information.”
