Detectives investigating Long Eaton robbery appeal for witnesses

Posted on 27th April 2017

Our detectives investigating a robbery in a Long Eaton park are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

The incident happened at around 5.30pm on Saturday, April 22 when the 16 year-old victim was playing football with his friends on West Park in the town.

The friends were approached by a group of four youths, one of which was drinking from a bottle of whisky. This youth then threatened the victim to hand over his bike and when he didn’t he smashed the bottle causing cuts to the victim’s hand. The group then walked off empty handed.

The incident is being investigated by DC Mark Walker, who says: “The incident resulted in an injury to the victim that could have been far worse.

“We know that there were quite a few people on the park at the time, including a woman who approached the victim after the attack and we would like her or anyone else who could have information about the attack to make contact with us.”

The youth with the bottle was described as white, 15-16 years old, around 5’ 4” tall and described as being an average build. He was wearing a dark coloured padded jacket and all black Nike Air max trainers.

If you think you can help, please call Mark on 101 quoting reference number 17000167568.
