A woman from Alvaston has been handed a six year jail sentence after pleading guilty to burglaries in the Scropton area.
On Sunday, March 26, five properties on Scropton Road were broken into. On one occasion, a window was smashed and a Michael Korrs handbag, containing cash and bankcards, was stolen from inside.
A bank card, which is believed to have been stolen during the burglary, was later used at a shop on Station Road in Hatton, and a 35-year-old woman was later arrested.
Louise Scott (35) of Harvey Road, Alvaston was charged with five counts of burglary and two counts of fraud.
Scott appeared at Derby Crown Court on Tuesday, April 25, where she was handed a six year prison sentence after pleading guilty to the offences.
