Man arrested after alleged altercation in the city centre

Our officers were called to St Peter’s Street in the city centre last night (Wednesday, August 16) at 11.25pm to reports of an injured man.

A 27-year-old man was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre with an injury to his chest.

Officers arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and he remains in police custody.

Detective Inspector Dave Ball said: “Anyone with information is asked to contact us on 101 quoting reference number 999 or August 16.”
