Appeal for witnesses after attempt robbery in Wirksworth

Officers investigating an attempt robbery in the Derbyshire Dales are appealing for information.

On Tuesday, August 22 at around 4.30pm a 71 year-old man was walking along the High Peak Trail, towards Old Lane in Wirksworth, when he was confronted by a youth.

He threatened the man and asked him to hand over his possessions. The man refused and the youth ran off towards a wooded area.

The youth was described as between 15-19 years-old, 5ft 6ins tall, white and was wearing grey jogging bottoms, a black hooded top and a scarf which covered the bottom half of his face.
