Five teenagers arrested in connection with city centre disorder

Posted on 16th February 2017

We have arrested five teenagers in connection with allegations of robbery, public disorder and an assault on a police officer.

We were called to the Derwent Street area of Derby city centre at 6pm last night (Wednesday, February 15) after one man reported that he had been robbed by a group of youths and a second man reported that he had been threatened by the group.

Officers went to the scene and one constable alleges that he was assaulted by a teen as he tried to arrest him.

We arrested a 16-year-old boy, three 13-year-old boys and a 15-year-old girl. They were all released last night while we continue our inquiries.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call us on 101, quoting reference 17000067020.
