We’re looking to recruit a volunteer to help support our Police Cadets in Glossop.

The cadet scheme has groups in Derby, Chesterfield and Glossop and is aimed at 13-18-year-olds who are keen to be involved in a police-orientated youth group.

The aim of the scheme is to give young people an insight into the many and varied aspects of policing, to make them aware of the role of the police in society, to develop their character and to promote good citizenship.

We’re now looking for a volunteer to help mentor youngsters in Glossop, giving a minimum of two hours each Thursday night.

PCSO Jack Barlow, who mentors the Glossop police cadets, said: “Our cadets are very enthusiastic and have done some outstanding work in the community, recently receiving divisional awards for an event they organised for residents at Cornmill House in the town.

“We need a volunteer to help mentor the cadets and support what is very successful scheme.”
