Armed officers conduct search on Mount Carmel Street in Derby

We can confirm that armed police were on Mount Carmel Street in Derby during yesterday evening (Friday February 17).

The officers were there as part of an ongoing investigation into a public order incident which occurred on Livingstone Road, near junction with Clarence Road in the city at about 8.30pm on Thursday (February 16).

Three men, in their early 20s, who are all from Derby, have been arrested during the course of the investigation.

No firearms have been found and we believe the public order incident was an isolated one.

Additional high-visibility patrols will be around the area as reassurance to residents.
