Man dies in A50 road crash

We’re investigating a fatal collision on the A50 in South Derbyshire.

It happened at about 10pm last night (Thursday February 23) on the eastbound carriageway shortly after Junction 4, where the A38 and the A50 meet.

A van and a lorry collided and the driver of the van, a 27-year-old man, who is not from the local area, died at the scene.

The road remained closed overnight while our officers completed their investigation.
