Pensioner remains in a serious condition after he was found in a Normanton street

A 78-year-old man remains in hospital in a serious condition after he was found collapsed in Normanton.

The man was found on a pathway next to the Charlotte Street car park just before noon yesterday (Monday, February 27).

He was taken to the Royal Derby Hospital for treatment where his condition is described as serious.

We have identified him and his family members and are investigating what happened to him. We are not ruling out the possibility that he was assaulted.
