Police seek witnesses to an accident outside Royal Derby Hospital

We are seeking witnesses to a road traffic collision that happened outside the Royal Derby Hospital last week. 

The incident happened at around 5.30am in the early morning of Friday, February 24 when an 18 year-old man was allegedly struck by a car on the pedestrian crossing on the city bound carriageway of Uttoxeter Road between the hospital and the Aldi supermarket. 

The vehicle involved, thought to be a black Vauxhall Insignia, was initially stopped by the driver who then, it is alleged, drove off without exchanging details.
