Four men arrested following incident in Belper

Posted on 4th January 2017

We’ve arrested four people in connection with an assault in Belper in early December.

We were called at 10.45pm on Friday December 2 to a report of an altercation on King Street outside the Green House pub. Two men aged 27, from Jacksdale and 24, from the Belper area, sustained serious injuries.

Three men aged 32, 30 and 27, from Eastwood and a 23-year-old man from Nottingham, have all been arrested on suspicion of the attempted murder of the 27-year-old man. We’ve questioned them and released them on police bail while our enquiries continue.

We’re still trying to trace anyone who witnessed what happened or who saw a silver Audi A3 and a silver Ford Focus together, either driving in Belper or on one of the car parks at the top of the town possibly on Shortlands.

If you have any information you think would help the investigation please contact DC Andy Cocking on 101, quoting reference number 16000396815.
