Officers try to trace the owners of three bicycles that may have been stolen

Posted on 4th January 2017

We are trying to find the owners of three bicycles we have recovered that we believe may have been stolen.

We were called to Sheroside Close in Allestree at about 3.30am yesterday (Tuesday, January 3) following reports that someone was breaking into a shed.

Officers searched the area and found three youths and five bikes. The boys, aged 17, 14 and 13, were all arrested on suspicion of burglary.

The 17-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of theft of a bicycle and the 14-year-old on suspicion of going equipped and making a hoax call to police on December 29.

They have been released on bail while we continue our inquiries.

Two of the bicycles have been identified as having been stolen from Allestree but we are trying to trace the true owners of the other three bikes.

We have released pictures of the bikes and are asking people to call in if they recognise them.

If you heard or saw anything suspicious in Allestree during the early hours of yesterday morning, or if you are the rightful owner of the bikes, call PC Dalbir Janagal or DS Daniel Phillips on 101, quoting reference 17000002291.

Alternatively, send them a message online by visiting the Contact Us section of our website here.

You can also call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
