We are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Hadfield.

Sometime between 4am and 4.30am on Sunday, January 8, a 32-year-old man was walking to work along North Road when he was approached by two men who demanded his hat.

When he refused, one of the men lashed out at him and he felt a pain in his abdomen. The men ran off and the victim realised he had a small puncture wound to the abdomen.

The men are white, aged 18-20 and slim. They both wore dark quilted coats and dark trousers.
