We have released a CCTV image of a man we would like to trace in connection with an attempted robbery in Alvaston last month.

At around 6pm on Friday, December 9, a 58-year-old woman was sat at the bus stop outside of the Post Office on London Road, Alvaston, when a man grabbed her handbag and tried to pull it from her.

The woman fell to the floor and was dragged along the pavement.

A man who was passing by intervened and shouted to the offender who ran off empty handed across London Road, towards the Blue Peter Pub.

Do you recognise the man in the CCTV image or did you help to stop the victim?

If so, please contact DC Bethany Lee on 101, quoting occurrence number 16000407219, or send her a message here
