Stretch of the A52 remains closed following a collision

Posted on 12th January 2017

A stretch of the A52 is expected to remain closed until around noon following a collision.

The westbound carriageway between junction 25 of the M1 and Derby may not re-open this morning as workers clear debris and repair the road surface. The eastbound carriageway is not affected.

We were called just before 6am to reports that a car had struck the central reservation near Borrowash. The car, thought to be a Peugeot 206, caught fire following the collision.

The driver was taken to hospital where her injuries aren’t thought to be life-threatening.

We would like to thank drivers for their patience while this important work continues to make sure the carriageway is safe for traffic.
