Man dies after apparently falling from Derby Market Hall

Posted on 18th January 2017

A man has died after apparently falling while carrying out work at Derby’s Market Hall.

We were called to the Market Hall at around 4.20am today (Wednesday, January 18) following a report that a man, who had been carrying out work at the building with a colleague, had fallen from a height.

He was taken to the Royal Derby Hospital but was pronounced dead.

We have informed the Health and Safety Executive and have cordoned off an area inside the hall while inquiries continue.

We would like to thank Market Hall traders and customers for their patience and understanding this morning.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call us on 101, quoting incident 95 of January 18.
