Witness appeal after couple are robbed as they walk through Chaddesden

Posted on 23rd January 2017

We’re asking for witnesses to come forward after two teenagers were robbed as they walked home through Chaddesden.

The victims – a 15-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man – were walking along Old Mansfield Road when they were approached by four men.

As they neared, the men challenged the couple and told them to drop to the ground, before the 18-year-old was struck to the head.

He fell to the floor and was then kicked and punched by the group, who checked his pockets but left empty-handed a short time later.

We believe they ran off up Ramsden Close and we’re appealing for anyone who saw suspicious activity taking place.

Two of the offenders were white, with one wearing a baggy blue tracksuit and a peaked cap, and the second wearing a grey hoodie with a black coat over the top. There were no descriptions of the other two.

The robbery happened at about 9.30pm on Sunday, January 22.

Were you in the area around that time, and did you see four youths or men acting suspiciously? Do you recognise the clothing descriptions?

Witnesses or anyone with information should call DC Tarj Nizzer on 101, quoting reference 17000031358.

Alternatively, send him a message online by visiting the Contact Us section of our website www.derbyshire.police.uk/Contact-Us.

You can also call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
