Man who died on the A50 last February identified as a missing man from West Yorkshire

Posted on 26th January 2017

We have identified a man who died on the A50 in February last year.

Our officers had made extensive inquiries in the UK and abroad to identify the man, who was hit by a car on Wednesday February 24 on the eastbound carriageway of the A50 between the Toyota junction and Chellaston.

DNA testing and checks against the national missing person database has now revealed that he was Antony Hill (19) from West Yorkshire, who had last been seen in Todmorden two days before his death.

We would like to thank everyone who shared our appeals to help identify Mr Hill.
