We’re trying to trace two Good Samaritans who helped a man who was assaulted in Derby.

Sometime between 9.30pm and 9.45pm on Thursday, January 26, a 32-year-old man was walking along the Morledge when he passed a man and a woman who were arguing.

The man suddenly assaulted the victim, punching and kicking him. He suffered a fractured eye socket and bruising.

The attacker is described as white, in his early or mid-20s and of medium build. He has dark brown hair and wore tracksuit bottoms and trainers.

Two people stopped to help the victim and we are trying to trace them as they could have information to help our inquiry.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call PC Emma Barnes-Marriott on 101, quoting reference 17000038807. Alternatively, send her a message online by visiting the Contact Us section of our website here.
