Detectives have released the name of a man found dead at a house in Normanton.
A murder inquiry was launched yesterday (July 19) after the body of Murrey Paulson (52) was found at his home in Meynell Street.
Officers were called to the street at around 7.30am following reports that a man was at a house with an injury to his throat.
He was taken to the Royal Derby Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
A short time later, officers discovered Mr Paulson’s body in a house on the same street.
Mr Paulson and the injured man are thought to have known each other.
Senior investigating officer DCI Gareth Meadows said: "This is an ongoing investigation and I would appeal for witnesses, or anyone who has seen or heard anything suspicious, to come forward and speak to us.
"We are carrying routine house-to-house inquiries in the area and I’d like to thank everyone who has taken the time to speak to us.”
