We are appealing for witnesses to an attempted break-in at a terraced house in Stables Street, Derby, which happened during the day.

The homeowner noticed damage to a lock and tool marks on the door frame at the property.

We believe the would-be burglar tried to get into the property during the day on Sunday, May 14th.

The damage was caused between 11.30am and about 9.30pm.

Did you see anyone acting suspiciously in the area that day? Or do you live in the area and have private CCTV that we could view?
