Appeal for witnesses after car drives off from traffic light collision scene

Posted on 8th March 2017

Did you witness a collision at a set of traffic lights in Woodville, in which one of the drivers left without giving their details?

It happened at lights in Ashby Road at about 5.45pm on Wednesday, February 22.

A black Alfa Romeo stopped for a red light and was then struck from behind by a black Volkswagen car.

The driver of the VW then left before exchanging details, and drove off in the direction of Woodville.

We’re now asking for any witnesses to the collision to come forward, particularly drivers who might have dash cam footage and were in the area at that time.

We also want to hear from anyone who might know of a black Volkswagen that has recent front-end damage.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call PC Dan Goodman on 101.

Alternatively, send him a message online by visiting the Contact Us section of our website www.derbyshire.police.uk/Contact-Us.

You can also call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
