Posted on 15th March 2017

We are appealing for information after two men were allegedly assaulted in a car in Eyam.

At around 8.15pm on Wednesday, March 8, two men, aged 19, were sat in a Citroen Saxo in a car park off Hawkshill Road, Eyam, when a man approached and smashed the driver’s window.

The man then dragged the driver out of the car before assaulting him with a bat. He was then punched and kicked, sustaining injuries to his head, ribs, and thighs.

The passenger window of the car was also smashed. He got out of the car and was kicked in the face.

It is believed that around four to six offenders were involved in the assault.

The driver was taken to Chesterfield Royal Hospital to be treated for the injuries caused to his head and body.

Three people, aged 15, 17, and 20-years-old were arrested on suspicion of assault and have since been bailed pending further inquiries.
