Appeal after woman is knocked unconscious by thrown concrete

Posted on 16th March 2017

Did you witness a late night altercation in the city centre, in which a woman was knocked unconscious when a lump of concrete was thrown at her?

The incident happened in Macklin Street, in Derby, at about 3.40am on March 4.

The 21-year-old victim was walking home with a group of friends when a verbal dispute broke out with a group of men.

During the argument, one of the men chucked a lump of concrete and it struck the victim in the face, knocking her out and leaving her with a broken eye socket.

There were other people in the area around the time of the incident and we want to speak to anyone who witnessed it. In particular, two black men were walking up Green Lane and could have seen either group, or the dispute taking place.

If it sounds familiar, please get in touch.

We also want to hear from anyone who lives locally and might have private CCTV we could take a look at.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call DC Beth Lee on 101, quoting reference 17000092284.
