South Derbyshire Detective appeals for witnesses as two cars are stolen during house break-ins.

One of our detectives is appealing for witnesses after two house burglaries in South Derbyshire led to cars being stolen from the driveways.

The first incident happened between 7.15pm, Saturday, March 11 and 1.30am, Sunday, March 12 when thieves smashed the rear patio door of a house on Rowan Drive in Midway. Car keys were stolen from the house and a blue, 65 plate, VW Golf was taken from the driveway.

Then later on the Sunday morning between 6.30am and 7am a house on Bee Hives in Newhall was broken in to. Car keys and a purse were stolen and a black, 06 plate, Vauxhall Corsa SXI was taken from the driveway. This Corsa was found burnt-out two days later on Brackenhurst, Grangewood in Swadlincote.

The crimes are being investigated by DC Leah Conner who asks if anyone saw anything suspicious at these times and locations or knows anything about the burglaries that they make contact with her.
