CCTV released of man we want to speak to about thefts across the county

We’re trying to trace a man we want to speak to about a series of thefts across the county.

We have released this image of the man and we are asking anyone who can help identify him to get in touch.

At around 9.45am on Friday, March 17, a 69-year-old woman was walking along Robin Croft Road, Allestree, when she was approached by a man who asked for some change.

When she opened her purse, he distracted her and she later realised several notes had been taken.

We’re linking the crime to around 20 other similar incidents, which have taken place in Ripley, Heanor, Belper, Alfreton and Matlock.
