Witness appeal following attempted bank robbery

Posted on 27th March 2017

We’re appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery at a bank in Eckington.

A man walked into the Lloyds branch in Market Street just before noon today and demanded cash.

He left a short time later empty-handed. No one was injured in the incident and no weapons were seen.

We want to hear from anyone who was in the Market Street area at about noon and might have seen a man running off.

The would-be robber was white, in his mid- to late 20s, about 5ft 9ins, and of slim or skinny build. He had short dark brown hair that was messy on top, and was wearing a black hooded jacket and sunglasses.
