Posted on 15th May 2017

A man who collapsed following an altercation at a house in Ilkeston has died in hospital.

Our officers, together with paramedics, were called to a house in Station Road at around 10.30am yesterday (Sunday, May 14) following a report that the man who lived there had been involved in a dispute with another man.

Following the altercation, the 86-year-old man collapsed and was helped by a passer-by. He was taken to hospital but died in the early hours of this morning.

His death is being treated as unexplained at this time and an investigation has been launched.

We believe several people will have walked past the house after the incident and while the man was being treated by passers-by.

We want to hear from these people, and from anyone in the area who has CCTV.
