Witnesses sought to Markeaton Park robbery

We’re appealing for witnesses to a robbery at Markeaton Park.

At around 7.35pm on Sunday, April 30, a 14-year-old boy was approached by a man who threatened him and stole his bike, which the youngster had spent a long time saving for.The stolen bike

The robber rode off through the Allestree entrance to the park.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested and released under investigation while inquiries continue. The bike has been recovered but is damaged beyond repair.

Any witnesses, or anyone with dashboard camera footage who may have been passing the park at the time, is asked to call us. We also want to speak to anyone who lives near the park who may have CCTV cameras at their property.
