Man suffers head and facial injuries in city centre attack

A man was assaulted in an unprovoked attack in Derby city centre.

At around 9.10pm on Sunday, May 7, a 45-year-old man was stood at the taxi rank outside The Quad, in Corporation Street.

He was approached by a man who punched him in the face. He fell to the floor and was punched several more times.

His attacker, who was with three other men, walked off toward Iron Gate.

The victim suffered head and facial injuries and was knocked unconscious.

The four men all wore black clothing and had possibly got out of a dark coloured saloon car just before the attack.
