Police seek witnesses to an accident in Alvaston

Posted on 30th May 2017

We are seeking witnesses to a road traffic collision that happened in Alvaston over the weekend.

The incident happened at around 10.30am on the morning of Sunday, May 28 on London Road, when an 18 year-old man was allegedly struck by a car whilst he was crossing the road towards Brighton Road.

The vehicle involved is thought to be a silver coloured car, possibly a Peugeot 206 and it is believed that the driver failed to stop without exchanging details.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital and later discharged with minor injuries, cuts and grazes to his body.

We would particularly like to talk to a female, good samaritan who stopped to give the victim assistance and may have witnessed the incident.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or knows the woman who stopped to help is asked to contact the investigating officer PC Oliver Priddle by calling 101 quoting reference number 17000223147. Alternatively send him a message online by visiting the Contact Us section of our website here.
