Posted on 13th September 2017

Did you witness a robbery in which the offender rode his bicycle into the victim and knocked him to the ground, before stealing cash?

It happened near the junction of Portland Street and Pear Tree Street at about 8.20am Wednesday, September 6.

The offender cycled up behind the victim, rode into him and knocked him to the floor. The victim suffered cuts and grazes to his hands and knees.

Cash was then stolen from a bag the victim was carrying, before the robber fled on his bike.

We are appealing for any witnesses to the robbery to get in touch with us urgently.

The robber was described as black, of skinny build, aged between 30 and 40, and about 5ft 9ins in height. He was wearing a grey hoodie with the hood up.

Did you see it, or do you recognise that description? Did you see a cyclist in those clothes in the area around the time?
