Photos released after Mickleover runner robbery

Posted on 28th September 2017

We’re releasing a series of injury photos as part of a renewed appeal for information following a street robbery in Mickleover.

The photos have been provided to us by the victim of the robbery, which happened in Onslow Road at about 8pm on Sunday, September 10.

The 27-year-old was running along a cycle path that meets the road when she was approached by a man who demanded her phone, which she didn’t have on her.

He punched her and took some small change before running off.

The victim suffered bruising from the attack and has now released a number of photos.

DS Steve Bruce, who is leading the investigation, said: “The victim in this case not only suffered nasty cuts and bruises to her face and body, but the robbery has left her understandably distressed.

“It was an opportunistic robbery, in which the victim was put through a terrifying ordeal for the sake of just a few coins.

“We will not tolerate that kind of behaviour and I would urge anyone who knows who might be responsible to get in touch with us now.”

The robber was black, about 5ft 5ins, and had facial stubble. He was wearing grey or blue jogging bottoms, a black jacket and a black baseball cap. He also wore black and white pumps.
