Detectives investigating human trafficking case are given more time to question six suspects

Posted on 14th September 2017

Detectives conducting a human trafficking investigation have been granted more time to question six people.

At a hearing yesterday afternoon, magistrates granted officers more time to question the three men and three women.

Officers, assisted by the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority, executed warrants at five houses in Derby in the early hours of Tuesday morning (September 12), finding ten potential victims.

The ten men, who we believe to have been trafficked into the UK from Latvia, are being supported by partner agencies.

The arrested men are aged 32, 41 and 53 while the women are 31, 35 and 54.
