New police officer recruits have the feel good factor as today (Friday, September 29) they pass out of training school after completing their initial training.
This evening, nine women and 11 men will swear the oath of attestation before a magistrate and commit themselves to the Derbyshire Constabulary. Among them are a former chef, postman, hairdresser and waitress, as well as two police community support officers and three former members of our police staff.
Deputy Chief Constable Gary Knighton and Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner Kevin Gillott will be among those who welcome them to the force and their new careers, alongside their friends, family and trainers for the last four months.
