Man dies in A38 collision

A man has died following a collision on the A38 southbound between Markeaton Island and Kingsway, yesterday afternoon (Thursday, April 12) at around 2.50pm.

The man was driving a blue Ford KA which left the road, and entered a wooded area before colliding with a road sign and trees. The driver is yet to be formally identified but he is believed to be in his 50s.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who was driving in the area at the time and has dash cam footage should call DC Lauren Sidall from the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 18000165008.
