30 laying chickens stolen from Ashover

Posted on 23rd April 2018

We’re appealing for witnesses after a number of chickens were stolen from Hardwick Lane, between 6.30pm on Friday, April 13 and 9am on Saturday, April 14.

In addition to the birds, two bird carriers, and wildlife CCTV cameras were also stolen. It is believed that thieves gained entry by climbing over a wall and forcing open a door.

PC Ian Wheelwright, said: “We’d like to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the Hardwick Lane area of Ashover on the evening of April 13 and into the morning of April 14.

“The victim is naturally very upset at the theft of his birds, which are very dear to him, and we’d like to ask for the public’s help in recovering them.

“Please call me on 101 quoting reference number 18000168169, if you have any information which may help.”
