On International Youth Day 2018 a Derbyshire Police Cadet speaks about changing his life

Posted on 12th August 2018

On International Youth Day 2018 one of our police cadets, 18-year-old Kamaal Khaliq from Derby, wanted to speak about changing his life.

In this short video Kamaal speaks about how, when he was about 13 years-old, he was regularly in trouble and getting in to fights.

He explains what he did to change his life in a chat with our Sgt Ali Adams.

Watch out for the cheeky grin at the end that says he is pleased he did.

The theme for this year’s International Youth Day is ‘Safe Spaces for Youth’. Kamaal has clearly found his safe space with our police cadets, if you are interested in joining for more information visit
