Hats off to our new police officers

Posted on 13th February 2018

The latest intake of Derbyshire Constabulary police officers were sworn into their new roles at a recent ceremony at force headquarters.

Among the latest cohort are a former Prison Officer, a Police Community Support Officer, a Control Room Operator, a Special Constable, a Veterinary Nurse and an owner of a hair and beauty salon.

New Ripley officer, Chris Watts (pictured), spent four years in the Royal Navy, where service took him to Gibraltar, Crete, Egypt, Oman, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Qatar.

The new officers swore their oath of attestation before a magistrate and received their official powers before an audience of their family and friends.
